Há muito que não trazia para o blog e para o canal o review de uma peruca. Além disso, e como nunca tive uma lace front wig, foi uma nova experiência para mim.

Como devem saber, uma lace front wig tem, como principal propósito, dar-nos uma linha frontal de cabelo mais natural do que as outras perucas. A "Just Peachy" tem 60cm de comprimento e pode ser estilizada com baixo calor. Podem também lavá-la. Eu já o fiz e não desbotou, nem nada do género. O pedaço de lace que trazia era enorme, portanto, temos muita liberdade no que toca a penteados.

É uma peruca que tem imensa fibra e na cabeça pode-se considerar pesada, porque sei que ao final de umas 4h/6h, vamos começar a sentir aquela bela dor de cabeça. Uma vez que não tinha nenhum tipo de para lace front wigs em casa, pensei que talvez pudesse colá-la com cola de pestanas. Bom, não foi a pior ideia de sempre, mas se eu tivesse feito isso para ir a um evento, não teria sido a melhor... A ideia com que fiquei é que, talvez funcione melhor com uma cola de pestanas que seja mais líquida do que aquela com que eu costumo trabalhar. Não era só esse o problema. O facto de a cola de pestanas ser um pouco pastosa, levava a que esta se acumulasse e formasse pequenas bolas brancas. Para além disso, como a peruca é pesada, deslizava para trás constantemente, levando a que a lace descolasse. 

Daqui a uns tempos, trago novo feedback sobre uma nova cola que vou experimentar. O resto... Podem descobrir no vídeo :3

For a long time, I didn't bring a wig review to the blog and the channel. Also, since I never had a lace front wig, it was a new experience for me.

As you may know, a lace front wig has, as its primary purpose, to give us a more natural frontal hairline than other wigs. "Just Peachy" is 60cm long and can be managed with low heat. You can also wash it. I already did it and it didn't fade or anything like that. The piece of lace it had was huge, so we have a lot of freedom when it comes to hairstyles.

It's a wig that has a lot of hair and can be considered heavyon the head, because I know that at the end of 4h/6h, we will begin to feel that beautiful headache. Since I didn't have any type of lace front wigs glue at home, I thought maybe I could glue it with eyelash glue. Well, it wasn't the worst idea ever, but if I had done it to go to a con, it wouldn't have been the best... The idea I've got is that, maybe it works better with an eyelash glue that is more liquid than the one I usually work with. That wasn't just the problem. The fact that the eyelash glue was slightly doughy led to it accumulating and forming small white balls. Moreover, as the wig is heavy, it slid backward constantly, causing the lace to take off.

Há já algum tempo que venho para escrever este post e tentar listar algumas das razões que levam um cosplayer a ficar desmotivado, uma vez que me encontro nesta mesma situação. 
Apesar de ter cosplays quase prontos no momento e de alguns só precisarem de alguns ajustes, não me sinto com vontade de encarnar nenhuma personagem ou de começar a trabalhar nalgum fato/prop. Posso dizer que só me falta elaborar o tridente da card de Halloween da Nozomi, pois já tenho o fato e a peruca, e nem por isso tenho vontade de o fazer.

For some time now I have been wanting to write this post and trying to list some of the reasons that make a cosplayer becoming unmotivated since I find myself in this same situation.
Although I have cosplays that are almost ready at the moment and some only need some adjustments, I don't feel like embodying any characters or starting to work on some costume/prop. I only need to make Nozomi's Halloween card trident, because I already have the costume and the wig, and I don't feel like doing it.

Como todos sabemos, o cosplay é um hobby caro e trabalhoso. Porém, com algum esforço, sempre consegui juntar dinheiro aos poucos para começar um cosplay ou até para comprá-lo. Infelizmente, para muitos isto é algo que desmotiva a pessoa, porque vê-se sem possibilidades de comprar materiais para construir a personagem que tanto quer encarnar. Esta é a primeira razão que me surge.

As we all know, cosplay is an expensive and laborious hobby. However, with some effort, I've always been able to slowly gather money  to start a cosplay or even to buy it. Unfortunately for many this is something that discourages them, because they see themselves without possibilities to buy materials to build the character they wants to embody. This is the first reason that comes to me.

A segunda é a comunidade. Todos os que estão a ler este artigo têm, certamente, a perfeita noção dos defeitos e das qualidades que a sua comunidade de cosplay tem e têm também a noção de que muitas vezes os defeitos se sobrepõem às qualidades. Assédio, bullying, ofensas, intrigas. As comunidades de cosplay estão repletas de tudo isto e mais alguma coisa. Porém, cabe-nos a nós ignorar e seguir em frente. Só que muitas vezes estas situações cansam uma pessoa. Para além dos problemas pessoais e do quotidiano, ainda temos que levar com "mimimi's" da comunidade no final do dia. Obviamente, as pessoas têm prioridades, sentir-se-ão desmotivadas para continuar a trabalhar em algo onde somente se stressam e vão acabar por desistir.

The second is the community. Everyone who is reading this article certainly knows pretty well about all of the flaws and qualities that their cosplay community has and they also have know that flaws often overlap qualities. Harassment, bullying, offenses, intrigues. The cosplay communities are filled with all this and more. But it is up to us to ignore and move on. But often these situations tire a person. In addition to the personal and everyday problems, we still have to take with "mimimi's" from the community at the end of the day. Obviously, people have priorities, they will feel discouraged to continue working on something where they only stress about and will eventually give up.

Para mim, esta razão é muito pessoal, pois está a acontecer comigo. Há alguns anos que tenho rosácea acneica. A rosácea, numa explicação simples, consiste na concentração de vasos sanguíneos nas maçãs do rosto que leva a uma elevada vermelhidão do rosto. O acne, bem... todos nós já passamos por isso. Infelizmente, a rosácea é uma doença crónica que me leva a estar em constante tratamento. Para além disso, nem sempre a minha pele está, pelo menos, a 70%, o que não me permite usar maquilhagem. Por muito que eu queira fazer cosplay num certo momento, posso não ter a minha pele em condições para receber maquilhagem. Imaginem se isto me acontece no dia de um evento? Apesar de eu conseguir tapar tudo aquilo que tenho no rosto, não é bom para a minha pele estar mais de 8 horas com maquilhagem, sensível da maneira que ela fica, além do calor imenso que sentimos com um fato e num evento. Isto levou-me a afastar imenso.

For me, this reason is very personal, as it is happening to me. For some years, I have acne & rosacea. Rosacea, in a simple explanation, consists of the concentration of blood vessels in the cheekbones that leads to a high redness of the face. Acne, well... we've all been through it. Unfortunately, rosacea is a chronic disease that leads me to be in constant treatment. In addition, my skin is not always at least 70%, which does not allow me to wear makeup. Even if I really want to cosplay a character at a certain point, I may not have my skin fit for makeup. Imagine if this happens to me on an event day? Although I can cover everything I have on my face, it isn't good for my skin to be more than 8 hours with makeup, sensitive in the way it is, besides the immense heat we feel with a costume and at an event. This led me to step away immensely.

A última razão é também um tanto quanto pessoal. Ao vermos que o hobby que tanto gostamos não está a dar certo para nós, tentamos sempre encontrar um outro. Contudo, o outro hobby que eu encontrei é maquilhagem. Eu adoro gravar vídeos para o Youtube, criar looks e conjugá-los com lentes, tutoriais de maquilhagem para personagens já existentes ou até originais. Só que nem sempre posso gravar devido à minha pele e os tutoriais ficam em atraso, tal como 
os reviews.

Estas foram as principais razões que eu encontrei para a desmotivação dos cosplayers. Eu não vou desistir e devo dizer que, para já, somente abrandei. Porém, não se forcem a continuar com algo que pensam que não vos faz bem. Se não vos faz bem, deixem. Mas se têm uma grande paixão por isto, abrandem, só não podem desistir. 

The last reason is also somewhat personal. Seeing that the hobby we love so much is not working for us, we always try to find another one. However, the other hobby I found is makeup. I love to record  Youtube videos, create looks and conjugate them with lenses, makeup tutorials for existing or even original characters. But not always I'm able to record due to my skin and the tutorials are delayed, just like the reviews.

These were the main reasons I found for the cosplayers demotivation. I will not give up and I must say that for now, I just slowed down. But don't force yourself to continue with something that you think it doesn't do you good. If it doesn't do you good, leave it. But if you have a great passion for it, slow it down, you just can't give up.
